ASIA PACIFIC POLICY

China rising is making many nervous.
Japan is taking a near-military stand.
Even US is on contradicting position.
India?s role in out-sourcing is hurting US job market.
All these will not help peace and prosperity in the region.
No wonder many Southeast Asia countries are concerned.

Some do suggest that Canada can make a difference.
They already make sure of Australia?s involvement.
With Canada?s involvement, balance will be there.

But first, we have to elect a ruling party who can come up with an up to date Asia Pacific policy.
That is the hard part.

In BC, NDP is human right only.
Liberal looks out for big business.
Now you can see provincial Liberal is doing just that.
Green is too domestic.
And Conservative is not trying.
Or maybe they simply don?t have the talent.
So voters? choice will be the key.

Strange how Province has reader?s opinion on Independent will make a difference.
Even it is on different reason, but the thought is pretty much on target.

Vote an Independent with a good Asia Pacific policy.
I myself will be on a 9 days trip to Asia starting tomorrow.
Wonder what I will bring back.

Also I did visit Mayor Corrigan?s office today.
I asked his secretary to see if Mayor wants any help on sister city or cities arrangement in Asia.
Hope he is.

IS FEDERAL LIBERAL OUR ONLY CHOICE?

Many Chinese think so.
They consider Liberal?s management of our economy the best.

And to me, this is the root of Liberal corruption.
Public preference creates a unique mental situation.
Liberal starts to think they are the forever power.
People can?t live without them.

It is ok if it is true.
But reality is the other party is not good enough.
People have no choice.

Maybe some independents will make a difference by having better vision and direction for the best of Canadian economical interest.
They can help on what Conservative is not capable.
And Conservative has to learn how to appreciate those ?outside? help.
Voter has to learn to take a chance too.

EURO-BRITISH CANADA

It is alarming to see a full page ad in Windsor Star to promote such concept.
Especially it is at a time when Asia Pacific gaining global importance.

Racial implication is the least concern.
What is at stake is public focus on what is best for Canada.

And this is at a time when federal election is on hand.
A counter measure seems necessary.

FAIR GAME

As seasoned politician, Green ought to spot the situation from the beginning and had his own defense or offense ready.
To complain now, he is not a leader.

Sullivan as a graceful winner is the last one to say ?give it up?.
What is he afraid of?

But the real shame is the system and those who get paid to assure its fairness.
Pass it to the higher court is a great cope out.

BIRD FLU

Two farms with same owner is not a coincidence.
The authority response is political and economical.
But that may not be the truth.

RCMP FACING STAFF SHORTAGE

This article clears the name for Corrigan.
He ought to send a letter to auditor general to show his appreciation.
You can read in today?s Van Sun on page A2.
TEAM tactic was cheap.

On the other hand when city has that much cash on hand, head of the city refused to make the best offer in the market to get the best to have crime in control is morally wrong.
17,000 plus votes helped him to win.
But 114,000 are watching to see how he plays it out.

And ?that is not my department? mentality will kill the city even truly the responsibilities belong to federal and province.
Citizens only care to see if you are doing anything at all.
Point finger is not the choice.

MORAL AUTHORITY AND CRIME

Today?s Province and Burnaby Now both reported about a guy got beaten by a pipe on the head simply because he tried to voice some moral authority to break up a fight.
That was at 3 pm. on 4800 Kingsway.

Teen?s behavior reflects the mentality of the society we live in.
This was on a major street and in day light.
Guess what it can be in dark or at night.

If I am Mayor, I will go to the ?brave? helper to apologize in behalf of the city.
And then I will get the ?kids? did the beating in 24 hours and make them to apologize too.

Moral authority ought to start from city hall.
The demonstration ought to be on street not behind the safe desk.

THINGS TO WATCH

Near 100,000 people didn?t vote.
Only 2,000 more voted if comparing to three years ago.
But qualified voters increase near 40,000.
Some say it is their right not to vote.
Other says it is their decision that they accept whatever the result.
Tolerance and civil responsibility are muddy here.
The fact is only 32,000 plus voted.
This is less than 25% voted and less than 13% won the mandate.

Independent is the first to clean up the signs on street.
But many TEAM signs are still there.
Independent has no seat.

SINCERE THANKS TO ALL THOSE VOTED FOR ME

This independent will go on to fight party domination.
Keep the faith please.

FUN BURNABY

I like to get SLAM BALL to have a base in Burnaby.
And then we will branch out to all Asia Pacific cities.

I still am not giving up on Asia Pacific festivals in Central Park.
But Asia Pacific Basketball Tournament is out.
